Witch Malady's conversation is long and dull. Items can only be bought one by one, and may only be cooked by one. Cooking one thing means moving through 6 or 5 dialogue boxes (and selecting an option in each, which means that you can't actually junk the NPC Chat key). And you have to cook up a dozen intermediate items before you're able to make a solitary Stew, which is pretty much the only among Malady's concoctions that's still MS2 Mesos useful.
The process is long and it's painful and it provides an advantage to individuals who would like to violate the rules and macro the procedure in their keyboards or controllers.
I believe that collecting the required materials is already tedious enough, so the crafting process can be streamlined without creating the whole occasion a "freebie."
The easiest fix is to add a "how many would you like to buy/make?" Question to Malady's dialog before she takes your items and gives you your reward and exp. She will have to check that you have enough stuff, which you have enough space in your stock for the rewards, before she performs the transaction.
The cooler fix is to alter Malady to utilize the tagging system, similar to Beefy's Kitchen. Give her a Sack (store NPC for buying things with Dark Tokens) along with a Cauldron (crafting NPC for cooking things based on her recipes), and also the built-in operation of these kinds of NPCs will take care of the amount issue. The only tricky bit is that a few of her items could be crafted two different manners. I'm not certain whether the crafting system can handle two recipes which yield the exact same product.
